Happy Thanksgiving to all you lovely bloggers!

Looking at Your Empty Plate:
My plate, empty now,
will soon be filled
with precious food.

Looking at Your Full Plate:
In this food,
I see clearly the presence
of the entire universe
supporting my existence.

Contemplating Your Food:
This plate of food,
so fragrant and appetizing,
also contains much suffering.

Beginning to Eat:
With the first taste, I promise
to offer joy.
With the second, I promise to
help relieve
The suffering of others.
With the third, I promise to
see others joy
as my own.
With the fourth, I promise to
learn the way
of non-attachment and
equanimity.

Finishing Your Meal:
The plate is empty.
My hunger is satisfied
I vow to live
for the benefit of all beings.

Washing the Dishes:
Washing the dishes
is like bathing a baby Buddha.
The profane is the sacred.
Everyday mind is Buddha’s
mind.

Sue,

Happy Thanksgiving. Thankyou for the quote, virtuosity is something I hold very dear. There is no point in doing something, if you don't put everything you are into it.

OMG, That's where I go camping, all the time! Although now I only go about once a year.Anza Borrego area. Wow.
I've been camping there like, 50-100 times
or something. There used to be a secret
hidden hot springs between there and Salton Sea. They cemented over it.
It was 3 pools of varying temperatures, hot, medium, and cool.It was free, and a word of mouth type of place.Beautiful like an oasis. It was a clothing optional place. Maybe that's what made the locals cap it off.
Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving! :)
