Let's see action
Let's see people
Let's see freedom
Let's see who cares
~Pete Townshend
Today the senate took an important step in bringing our troops back from Iraq.
They voted on the Feingold-Reid amendment to end the war. This bill would require re-deployment of troops within 120 days, with full re-deployment ending on March 21,2008.
Unfortunately, the bill did not pass.
I genuinely believe that this war/administration is the greatest catastrophe in American history.
"US President George W Bush has vetoed a [previous] bill that would have set a deadline for the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq. The bill was approved by BOTH the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Congressional opponents of the war believe the veto signals that now it is the President alone who must take responsibility for continuing America's involvement, and the casualties. " [taken from a BBC on-line article which you may read HERE].
How in world do we think can we "export democracy" with a neo-Nazi in power?
Bush simply DOES NOT REPRESENT THE WILL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!!!
It boggles the mind, what this demonic duo (Bush-Cheney) have gotten away with...in a word MURDER. Yup. Lie to the Americans, play dumb (very easy for Bush) then have your way.
The result?
To date, there have been Over 3400 American casualties. 30,000 injured!!!!!!!!!! 30,000!!!!!!!
There have been between 64-70,000 Iraqi civilian casualties.
We are putting our troops in harms way FOR NO REASON. We are not dealing with ONE civil war in Iraq... presently there are MANY regional civil wars and the unspoken edict among all Iraqis: KILL AMERICANS. Over 70% of Iraqis want the US OUT OF IRAQ!!!
I, for one, cannnot stand for this BULLSHIT. I am so tired of it.
Are YOU?
Below is a list of how the senators voted.
PLEASE, if you see one (or both) of your senators on the list, I URGE you to call them and ask them to give us what the majority of Americans want to see: THE END OF THIS HORRIFIC, POINTLESS WAR!!!!!!
Thank you.
Peace and love to all...and GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!! AMEN.

Suexx

What upsets me the most?
We don't learn from our own history!!
This is just like Vietnam....we keeping leading our troops into "boobie traps". We know better. We should always know better!!!
Praying for PEACE and for KNOWLEDGE, too!
xo
Hi Sue,
I hope for peace also. It's hard to watch what has happened to our southern neighbours and not feel sad at the huge loss of life, and for what? We have our troops in Afghanistan, and my heart goes out to the soldiers there and their families for them to come home safely as well.
Thank you Elizabeth, Sue and Anne-Marie.
You girlz ROCK.
Keep praying for peace...don't ever stop.

Sometimes I wish all of us could take a trip outside of earth's atmosphere to see this globe that we call Earth from afar. I think it would help people understand that we're all living in one global nation.
So many wars are so petty. Why can't we all just get along?
Hi Sue, did you see Rufus on Letterman last night (5/17)? I watched him, he was in his swiss alps shorts.
YES Lannio.
I really feel the interconnection...especially having lived abroad. I wish everyone were like me and loved every person on the planet.
GO US!!!!
Oh GRACE!! I missed my baby in Leiderhosen???ack!
Thank GOD for YouTube!!!

Hi Sue,
"Music ~ Art ~ Love ~ Truth ~ Beauty" ~ ~ ~ These truly reflect who you are!
I've been to your blog pages before. This "blogging" is new to me. I've visited other blogger's pages just to figure out how to go about it. I have to say that I identify with you the most. Our ideals are quite similar.
Like you, I too, am very political. For the life of me I can't figure out how Bush and Cheney got such a foothold on America. I pretty much foresaw everything that has taken place since they came into office ~ the only thing left is re-instating the draft.
Prayers for peace along with action from the American public ~ Where are the mulitudes of protesters?
I was going to leave you a message when I first read you were moving to Taiwan. Silly, but I felt a little sad. On the other hand, like you say ~ you are a gypsy and I wish you all kinds of wonderful adventures and fulfillment in this new journey :)
"Starshine" was mystical (like Pete) ~ wasn't it? I'm happy that I was able to bring it to attention.
Thank you for stopping by. You are a beautiful individual.
And what a character Delbut is ~ gotta' love him!
Peace, Light and Happiness, Janice
Hi Sue,
I'm up early this morning ~ you've been on my mind. You sounded a wee bit "down" in your last email.
I just wanted to give you a rousing **Good Morning** and a hope that today is filled with glorious wonder!
I'm in the middle of "replanting my roots" ~ so, I know what you are feeling.
I know it's hard but, we have to look at this as a process of evolution. (The catapillar inches it's way through life and then is suddenly transformed into this beautiful butterfly flitting it's way from one flower to the next :) I see you as a butterfly :) Just think ~ you will be pollinating the world with your beauty!
'Nuff said ~ You're in my thoughts ~ Have happy thoughts today :)
