I'm thinking' about my doorbell...

...when am I gonna hear it?
I am so deaf it's not funny.
Thank you again, Pete Townshend.
I pretty much blame him - he started this tinnitus kick :)
I have to say that Pete is right to be concerned about the present headphone generation of kids...from the time the Walkman came out (early 80s?) ,I was plugged in every moment I could. Of course I had the volume on full blast (the better to tune out the Reagan years). Then, to add insult to injury, I used to go to small divey clubs to hear bands 2-3 times per week (before my mom days!) and I never would wear earplugs, (I wanted to hear eery note!).. So no wonder I have severe hearing loss in one ear.
It started the year "W" was elected...an omen, perhaps?
Anyway - the moral is - take care of your ears - and your kids' too!
Hoping all you guys are well,
I remain,
Yours truly in blogland,
Sue

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. My step-mom was the greatest. She was a very strong, kind and generous lady.

Did I tell you that I worked as a special ed. autism teacher for three years?

Denice- Yes, you did mention that you worked w/ autistic children. We'll have to chat some more about that.

Laura- NO! Not if you take precautions...I know that's no fun...but it may be necessary. Ya nevah know...

Sue,

A good message here. I've got some ringing in my ears from having been raised on the edge of a crash cymbal, but it's never too late to take precautions. Both my roommate and I need white noise in our house or we'd go nuts from listening to the ringing. :)

Haha!! Although it's no laughing
matter,I just like the way you
opened up your comment.I can't hear
shit either,my Doc says I'm 70%
deaf! That's scary.I have to
say "what did you say" over and
over again, but I am not embarrased
about it,most people know that
I played guitar through headphones
in the past and have attended over
600 rock concerts in the last 25
years.

Sue,

You have been tagged. Put up five things we should all know about you, and tag five other blogs. (My apologies for including you in this chain letter junk. :D )
