Typhoon Season is here!

Yikes! Taiwan is getting slammed by Typhoon Krosa (Cambodian for "crane").

I've never seen such fierce winds - it's pretty scary. Our bedroom got a bit flooded due to a big gap in our wall where we had an air conditioner installed. What a pain! We are having a TIME soaking up the rain, but thank goodness Sujoy remembered that I had brought home duct tape on my flight from Boston (don't ask me why!). So it's much better now.

I am thankful that I am safe and sound with my little family, and I am praying for everyone else's safety too.

I seem to be running into many (nature induced) obstacles lately. Anjoli hurt herself, so I couldn't meet my "new friend" for lunch last week and I missed both my yoga AND Buddhist meditation classes today due to the typhoon. Mother Nature is very humbling, and I am learning to just roll with things, no point in getting frustrated. I am sure that will be a big part of my meditation classes...learning to be at peace with the way things are. I am becoming more and more patient every day. It's not easy, that's for sure.

Hope you are all well.

I miss San Diego and my friends so much.

Lots of love,
Suexxxxxx

Hi Sue,
Thanks for stopping by with just sweet words. I'm sorry life is throwing all these wrenches at you and hope that Anjoli will be better soon. I see you've discovered (like on Red Green, which was a Canadian tv comedy)the magical powers of duct tape.
Stay safe, my dear!

At least you have intresting weather. In SoCal the big news is "oooh... there might be drizzle!" Oohh... there's clouds in the sky!

Keep trudging along and I'll do the same... Although I suspect your stories will always be more lively!

Thanks girlz!
We made it through and yes, the duct tape saved the day! woo hoo!!
The wind was recorded at 115 mph, I seriously thought it would shatter the windows.
Ilan (a coastal town we visited last year) got 39 inches of rain!
Incredible.

I am doing much better lately Grace. This weekend was a bit LONG being home bound, but we watched a bunch of great movies so that was fun.

Take care ladies.
Love,
Suexxxx

Swho, I was watching the weather channel this morning and heard *Taipei* and spun around to watch more closely. You got SLAMMED and I was worried. Glad to see you here and that things are over and OK!!

Hey, Sue

While the wind is scary, they say that the rain and floods are more dangerous. Glad to hear you all survived even if you were a little stir-crazy with being cooped up. Last basketball season, my son broke his collarbone two weeks before the season started. He spent the first few weeks of practice and games on the sidelines. This year in football season, he hurt his knee in the second week of practice, lost his varsity spot, but has since earned it back. I'm sure Anjoli will be able to catch up quickly. Tendonitis can be painful! I used to get it until I learned that I needed to use real running shoes to go jogging, not regular sneakers.

Keep your stories coming. I love hearing about your new adventures!

Hi Lace~
Yeah it was pretty hairy! I enjoyed it after we found the duct tape!

Hi Cathy~ Oh your poor baby too.
Yeah now Anjoli is using a wheelchair in school! She is off until Monday (tomorrow is Independence Day or something like that). Thank goodness she has a slumber bday party on Thursday or else I'd be going nutso trapped on the apt.

You're right the flooding is more dangerous - mudlslides, etc. We were safe and sound in our apartment (even though the rain leaked through in a few places, not just our bedroom. That's life in Taiwan!).
Nice to see you again!
